Jackson Lane Pty Ltd was engaged as accommodation design sub-contractor by Williams Brothers / CMPS Australia for the preliminary and detailed design of a 14 man accommodation module for the Kutubu Platform offshore New Guinea. The module is a conventional steel framed and braced structure having two accommodation decks and a helideck. Various alternatives for layout and construction techniques were investigated at the design stage.
The quarters provide permanent accommodation for 14 men and include a control room, recreation and messing facilities. The platform functions as an offshore loading terminal for crude oil transported by submarine pipeline from the onshore Kutubu field.
More recently the development has been operated by Oilsearch Limited and is now known as the Kumul offshore terminal.
