"Challis Venture" is a
"new build" barge which is operated as a permanently moored non
powered FPSO.
Jackson Lane Pty Ltd was responsible for
the conceptual design of crew accommodation spaces which are located aft
and partially below main deck. The accommodation block layout was
constrained by a limited footprint area and the need to restrict overall
height and wind resistance. Accommodation layouts were further developed
in conjunction with the shipyard designers and all detail design drawings
were subject to our review and approval.
Jackson Lane Pty Ltd was responsible for
preparation of interior design and furniture procurement and in addition
for the approval of shipyard subcontractors and equipment vendors' design
documents.
The crew accommodation and central
control room were fitted out to a high standard acceptable to both the
owner, the maritime unions and the certifying authority, Lloyds Register.
A helideck suitable for Bell 214 ST helicopters was provided. Personnel
were seconded to the BHP Petroleum topsides design group for the duration
of the design work and were directly responsible for all matters relating
to the accommodation. Construction supervision and support services were
provided at the IHI Shipyard in Nagoya, Japan.
