Halliburton KBR engaged Jackson Lane Pty Ltd for preliminary and detailed design of a new control centre for the Long Island Point Crude Fractionation Plant. The existing plant is controlled from an older generation local control room and the new remote arrangement will deliver significant improvements in operational efficiency and personnel safety.
An important part of our input included the detailed design of new operator workstation furniture to house the DCS consoles. The operator console incorporates the latest generation of display technology including flat screen monitors and large format rear projection overview screens. Special attention has been given to all aspects of ergonomics including equipment placement, sight lines, lighting, acoustics and environmental comfort to ensure a high level of situation awareness for the operators.
