BP engaged Jackson Lane for concept and detailed design of a new laboratory at the Kwinana refinery site in WA. The new facility replaces an existing laboratory that had served the refinery from its inception in 1955. Current safety considerations require that new occupied buildings located near the process plant area and exposed to a potential blast risk are designed as blast resistant structures.
The site is located immediately adjacent to the ocean at Kwinana and is exposed to high winds and a corrosive atmosphere.
