Auseon Limited engaged Jackson Lane as Architects and Project Managers for the design of a new blast resistant Control Building at their existing petrochemical manufacturing facility in Altona Victoria. We were responsible for all phases of design from concept to detailed engineering. In addition we were responsible for managing the procurement process and administering all construction and supply contracts.
The building is designed as a blast resistant and fire proof refuge in the event of an incident in the process area and houses a new process control system and operator amenities. The new control building will be the centre for control of all plant operations and replaces all existing control stations.
The building features a heavily reinforced concrete structural envelope including pre-cast walls and in-situ floor and roof slabs. The HVAC system is fully redundant to support continuous uninterrupted service and is interfaced with the fire and gas detection system for emergency shut down and isolation in the event of a process upset.
Our scope included design work in all engineering disciplines other than process instrumentation.
